A group of authors is suing AI startup Anthropic for using pirated copies of copyrighted books to train its chatbot Claude. The lawsuit alleges that Anthropic’s actions go against its stated goals and seek to profit from the work of others. This is the first case against Anthropic from book authors, but the company is also facing a similar lawsuit from major music publishers.
