The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (the “Act”) regulates AI systems and defines them as machine-based systems with varying levels of autonomy, adaptiveness, and the ability to infer information from input data to generate output. The Act will enter into force in 24 months and has key elements that organizations should be aware of.
