The recent dispute between Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal and LinkedIn highlights the need for big tech firms to be more inclusive and democratic. Aggarwal’s post on “pronoun illness” was removed by LinkedIn, leading him to switch to Krutrim’s AI cloud. While gender pronouns are important for inclusivity, viewing one ideology as the only progressive one and resorting to cancel culture is problematic. However, Aggarwal’s reaction to turn the issue into a conflict between Indian and Western values was unnecessary.
