The Applied Machine Learning Days (AMLD) is a global platform that brings together experts and participants from over 40 countries to discuss fairness and bias in AI applications for the labor market. The BIAS project, led by Mascha Kurpicz-Briki, presented their objectives and showcased how their work package 2 activities, such as a literature review and expert interviews, have contributed to understanding the state of the art and public attitudes towards automation in the labor market. The session also featured a talk from Preethi Lahoti on the importance of incorporating socio-technical considerations in designing AI solutions.
