Hong Kong has rolled out the first AI curriculum for junior secondary students, which includes topics such as basic AI concepts, computer vision, speech and language, robotic reasoning, AI ethical issues, and the technology’s impact on society. The curriculum is adopted from deliverables of the “AI for the Future Project” launched by Chinese University, with nearly 50% of the curriculum focusing on ethics and social impacts of AI. Students will be taught to generate pictures and write letters with mirror sites of ChatGPT, and to evaluate the quality of the tool’s deliverables. They will also work on group projects to identify existing AI applications in their daily lives.
