India is making significant progress in the development of new-age technologies such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence. The TATA Institute of Fundamental Research is close to completing India’s first quantum computer, which will be a major milestone for the country. The project is a collaboration between TIFR, DRDO, and TCS and involves designing key components such as the quantum processing unit, electronics, and software. The ability of quantum computers to hold multiple states simultaneously makes them capable of tackling complex calculations, surpassing even the most powerful supercomputers today.
