IBM has announced that they have integrated error suppression technology from Q-CTRL into their cloud quantum services, allowing users to reduce error rates with a simple switch. Error correction is a major challenge for quantum computers due to the fragile nature of quantum states, and error suppression is the leading scheme for tackling this issue. Q-CTRL’s software can increase the chances of an algorithm running successfully by several orders of magnitude, and IBM has now integrated the technology into their cloud offerings.
