Libby Heaney is a visual artist and former scientist who uses her scientific knowledge and skills to create art. Her artworks combine tech elements such as quantum computing, AI and graphics with visceral elements such as slime, fabric and watercolour painting. Heaney believes that quantum technologies provide the best real and metaphorical tools for her art, as it requires imagination and creativity to understand quantum phenomena. She also believes that quantum computing can give artists a new way of seeing and sensing the world, and offers a framework to move away from the binary of digital technology and embrace plurality.
