Quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI) are closely related, with quantum computing having the potential to accelerate the next generation of AI. Duke Quantum Center (DQC) director Chris Monroe and Schiciano Family Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke Jungsang Kim have co-founded the quantum computing company IonQ, which caters to industry collaborators. Large language models (LLMs) are adept at summarizing data and presenting text, but cannot keep up with specialized knowledge.
