Charles Hoskinson, CEO and founder of the blockchain research firm Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) and creator of the blockchain platform Cardano, recently broadcasted a live video entitled “The Five Pillars of the 21st Century” in which he discussed the five transformative technologies that will shape the 21st century. These technologies are Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Computing, Synthetic Biology, Nanotechnology, and Blockchain Technology. AI and Quantum Computing have an amplifying effect, Synthetic Biology can be used in an extension or regulation direction, Nanotechnology allows building and changing any physical thing into a computer, and Blockchain Technology creates the rules in the new digital economy.
