NTT Data and Schneider Electric have partnered to offer a product that integrates edge, private 5G, IoT, and modular data centers, enabling edge connectivity “anywhere.” This joint offering aims to maximize energy efficiency and meet the demands of compute-intensive tasks such as generative AI, machine vision, and predictive maintenance. The partnership comes as the demand for compute power in the AI landscape continues to grow, with large-scale AI models using 100 times more compute power than contemporaneous models. Edge computing brings computation closer to the data source, reducing latency and enabling real-time responsiveness for AI applications.
