The US National Institute of Standards and Technology has published the first set of three standards for post-quantum cryptography in response to the increasing likelihood of operational quantum computers. These algorithms, including ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA, use lattice systems and digital signatures to create secure channels and protect against quantum computer attacks. IBM, a leader in quantum computing, expects to reach a significant inflection point in the next decade and potentially break RSA encryption.
