However, the same connectivity that brings enormous benefits also leaves individuals and countries vulnerable to cyber attacks. Malicious activity in cyberspace is on the rise, with both state and non-state actors using it as a weapon. This includes breaches of essential public services, illicit activity by criminal organizations, and the use of cyberspace in armed conflicts. The integration of digital tools with weapon systems further complicates the issue.
