Qualcomm Technologies has launched the European QIF Excellence Award to recognize and mentor innovative engineering PhD students in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. The program rewards 12 finalists with individual prizes of USD and dedicated mentors from the Qualcomm Technologies team. After careful review, four winners were selected for their outstanding proposals in areas such as pose estimation, causality, advanced digital signatures, digital health, and more. The four winners are researching probabilistic inference techniques, Bayesian Neural Networks and Gaussian Processes, a unifying perspective of causal and representational identifiability, and the use of deep learning for medical imaging.
