ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that is being used by cybercriminals to enhance their phishing email attacks. This has raised concerns among cybersecurity leaders, as it allows for the production of advanced social engineering attacks, such as CEO fraud or business email compromise (BEC) attacks. Additionally, AI-powered chatbots can be used to scrape personal or financial data from social media, create brand impersonation emails and websites, or even generate code for malware such as ransomware. Recently, a new exploit called “DAN” was discovered, which allows users to bypass ChatGPT’s built-in limitations and create malicious outputs without any warnings or cautionary advice.
