The Australia-US Climate, Critical Minerals, and Clean Energy Transformation Compact is a recently signed pact that is expected to deliver benefits beyond clean energy or new mines, and also boost national security. Cyber security expert Tony Burnside believes that the pact will bring nothing but goodness, and will deepen collaboration on the materials and know-how that are vital to defence supply chains and clean energy. Mr Burnside also believes that Australia must keep up with the bad guys and other countries leveraging artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as quantum computing, which will outmatch existing encryption standards.
