OpenAI, a research laboratory founded by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and others, has released ChatGPT, an AI language model, to the public. In a few months, it had 100 million monthly active users. Despite the potential benefits of artificial intelligence, there are also serious risks associated with its development, such as unintended consequences from AI systems and bias in algorithms. Elon Musk recently commented on the state of San Francisco, blaming its politics and lamenting the spread of a “self-destructive mind virus” through Twitter.
