Microsoft Teams is a popular UCaaS and collaboration solution that provides companies with messaging, video, voice, screen sharing, and meetings capabilities. To further enhance their telephony capabilities, Microsoft allows companies to connect their own preferred carrier to Teams through two methods: Direct Routing and Operator Connect. Operator Connect is the preferred method as it allows users to access all of their telephony settings and requirements from within Teams, minimizing the need for complex PowerShell configuration. Microsoft claims Operator Connect adoption is constantly increasing, and the company continues to add new partners to its network all the time.
