The recent surge in language processing tools such as ChatGPT has caused organizations to create guidelines for responsible usage. OpenAI recently released GPT-4, a more powerful version of GPT-3.5, which is capable of passing a simulated bar exam in the top 10%. Organizations such as Medium and the University of Waterloo have called for “transparency” and “disclosure” when using AI-generated writing. However, the unchecked innovation of ChatGPT and GPT-4 raises concerns about potential misuse as a disinformation and propaganda machine.
