UK Power Networks, a major energy distributor in the UK, has taken a methodical approach to cloud adoption in order to ensure reliability and security while enabling IoT, smart metering, and predictive analytics. The company has migrated to a hybrid cloud infrastructure centered on Microsoft Azure, while retaining on-prem systems for sensitive data and services. This digital transformation began with unifying three networks under one ERP system and plans to eventually move to SAP’s S/4HANA SaaS-based model.
