Qualcomm is collaborating with Ampere Computing to create energy-efficient AI chips for data centers. The new Qualcomm Cloud AI 100 inference solutions, powered by Ampere CPUs, will support large language model inferencing. Ampere’s CPUs, based on Arm’s intellectual property, are known for their energy efficiency and performance. The company also announced a new version of its CPU, manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor. This partnership is part of Qualcomm’s efforts to diversify its portfolio.
