Qiskit is an open-source software development kit (SDK) that has become the go-to platform for quantum coders. With over 550,000 users and 8000 enhancements from 500 contributors, Qiskit has now reached maturity and performance with its 1.0 release. It offers a high-performance development and runtime environment for creating “Quantum Utility” circuits and enables quantum systems with tens of thousands of qubits. Qiskit Runtime, a cloud-based service, has also improved with this release, allowing for remote access and efficient optimization and error mitigation.
