The White House has released an Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity, which aims to improve the nation’s cybersecurity and protect federal government networks from advanced malicious cyber activity. The order focuses on seven areas of action, including requiring IT service providers to share breach information and moving towards secure cloud services and a zero-trust architecture. Companies in the private sector that own and operate critical infrastructure will also be affected by the order and are encouraged to have a solid compliance plan in place.
