Oracle has announced a series of updates and enhancements to its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform at its Oracle CloudWorld 2023 event in Las Vegas. These updates include enhanced compute power, development tools, access governance, hybrid cloud support, distributed cloud strategies, and data security capabilities. Oracle also announced new Nvidia Ampere-based GPU virtual machine instances, collaboration with Red Hat to run OpenShift on OCI, and the limited availability of its Enterprise Generative AI service. Oracle founder and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison also boasted about the company’s growing cloud footprint, claiming that Oracle has more cloud regions than AWS, Azure, and Google.
