Nutanix’s Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) study has revealed that healthcare companies are lagging behind the overall average for cloud adoption, but are expected to grow from 53% to 74% over the next three years. The hybrid multicloud model is the operating model with the highest expected growth among all companies surveyed in the ECI, with healthcare companies expecting to increase hybrid multi-cloud deployments by more than seven times (38 percentage points) over the next three years. Cybersecurity was cited by 13% of respondents as the main driver driving their IT infrastructure purchase decisions, followed by data sovereignty (12%) and cloud and on-premise execution flexibility (9%). Cost control was also cited as a challenge by 86% of healthcare respondents.
