Ericsson and Google Cloud are collaborating to develop a cloud RAN solution on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) to help communications service providers (CSPs) optimize RAN infrastructure and leverage AI and ML. The solution is running live in Ericsson’s Ottawa Open Lab and is integrated with Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform. The companies are also enhancing the solution through the Linux Foundation open-source project Nephio.
