Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) is a rapidly expanding industry that provides seamless integration of real-time, cloud-based, and customizable communication services into existing applications. CPaaS is a type of Platform as a Service (PaaS) that enables developers to easily enhance and integrate direct, real-time communication between users within an existing application. Despite experiencing challenges, the industry remains one of the most robust IT sectors, with many companies capable of achieving double-digit growth and profitability. Proximus recently made a significant entry into the global CPaaS market by acquiring a majority stake in Route Mobile, an Indian company, for € 643m. This acquisition is being carried out through Proximus Opal, a subsidiary of Proximus that focuses on enterprise and is the parent company of Proximus’s CPaaS business, Telesign.
