Markos Karasamanis, a computer scientist from ETH Zürich University, created Petaparsec, a cloud platform for deep learning experiments. It offers storage, database, RAM and CPU services at competitive prices. Additionally, it has a business model that allows users to earn money through royalties. Recently, Karasamanis has decided to focus on robotics, creating ‘mechanically transparent’ robots with a brain akin to apps on smartphones. The startup now consists of four developers and mechanical engineers, and will populate the cloud platform with apps.
