Amazon has announced the launch of Bedrock, a cloud service that developers can use to enhance their software with artificial intelligence systems that can generate text. Bedrock will offer access to Amazon’s own first-party language models called Titan, as well as language models from startups AI21 and Google-backed Anthropic, and a model for turning text into images from startup Stability AI. Amazon is aiming to ensure that its Titan models produce high-quality responses, and is competing with Microsoft, which has invested billions in OpenAI and supplies the startup with computing power through its Azure cloud.
