Microsoft’s Kubernetes-based edge computing platform, AKS Edge Essentials, is now generally available. It is based on an architecture that uses Windows IoT and Hyper-V hypervisor as the core building blocks, and can run on both AMD64 and ARM64 processors. OEM partners like Lenovo and Intel are offering ready-to-use, certified hardware to run AKS Edge Essentials, and Microsoft and its partners have published reference implementations and samples.
