Microsoft announced on Monday that it is making a multi-year, multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, the company behind the AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT. The investment will help accelerate OpenAI’s independent AI research and build out the AI infrastructure of Microsoft’s cloud-based Azure platform. The two companies will also work together to independently commercialize the resulting advanced AI technologies.
