Fhenix, a Layer 2 blockchain utilizing Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), has closed a $15 million Series A funding round. The funding will be used to launch their open testnet, Helium, which will allow developers to deploy smart contracts on the Fhenix network. Fhenix is the first blockchain to offer an EVM-compatible smart contract platform with native FHE support, allowing for encrypted computations on the blockchain. The team behind Fhenix is committed to bringing confidentiality onchain and believes it is the next major obstacle to mainstream Ethereum adoption.
