The United Nations eGovernment Development Index (EGDI) report has revealed that the UK has dropped from being the top country for eGovernment in 2016 to eleventh place in the 2022 report. This is due to other countries accelerating their engagement with cloud-based technologies, citizen video platforms and online accessibility. Trust is a key issue in the UK today, and blockchain technology has a clear part to play in restoring trust in the government.
