The Nigerian government has launched a National Policy on Blockchain Technology and inaugurated an Implementation and Steering Committee to oversee its implementation. The policy is aimed at promoting the adoption of blockchain technology in Nigeria and positioning the country as a leading player in the global blockchain ecosystem. The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), launched the policy and highlighted the importance of the technology to the nation’s digital economy drive. The policy is part of the National Digital Economy Policy & Strategy (NDEPS) for a Digital Nigeria and is part of the fourth industrial revolution.
