Professor Arthur Mutambara, a former deputy prime minister of Zimbabwe, recently spoke at the In Conversation with Trevor Ideas Festival in Nyanga about the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to add US$7 trillion to the global economy. He highlighted the importance of African countries embracing AI to optimise the productivity of AI goods and to ensure they benefit from the potential economic gains. Mutambara also discussed the risks and dangers of AI, such as existential risks, and the need for strategic thinking to get things done.
