The EU Agrifood Testing and Experimentation Facility (TEF) is a physical and virtual facility launched in January of this year to support the testing of AI-based software and hardware. The facility aims to facilitate sustainable and efficient food production by boosting the capabilities of tech innovators in the field to elevate EU products’ competitiveness on the global market. Experts from two of the Agrifood TEF’s national partners discuss the potential of existing and upcoming technologies such as AI, robotics, IoT, sensors, drones, 3D printing, blockchain, virtual reality and augmented reality to transform agriculture. Global players, such as the Israel-based ICL Group, are already making strides in this space, with initiatives such as the recently launched ICL Planet Startup Hub.
