This article discusses the potential of AI and robotics in healthcare, with the possibility of robots performing surgery in the future. Professor Subramanian Ramamoorthy of Edinburgh University’s School of Informatics believes that the introduction of robots in surgery will be a slow process, starting with minimal assistance and then progressing to more complex tasks. Currently, robots are being used in the NHS, but they are still operated and guided by a human surgeon.
