This article discusses the potential of large language models (LLMs) in transforming healthcare practices, including medical diagnosis, patient engagement, and drug discovery. However, challenges such as ethical considerations and model biases must be addressed. A Special Issue has been proposed to explore the role and impact of LLMs in healthcare and invite contributions from various fields. Manuscripts can be submitted online for peer-review and accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal.
