Large language models and their applications, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, are becoming increasingly popular due to the search engine wars between Google and Microsoft. This has led to a renewed interest in natural language processing and question answering systems. Ryan Welsh, CEO of an NLP search company called Kyndi, notes that the reaction to NLP for search has changed drastically in the past few years. Billions are now being invested in next-generation search tech, with a focus on QA systems that can give fast and accurate answers. However, current chatbot technologies are not meeting enterprise demands, as explainability is often lacking.
