Researchers at the University of Maryland have developed a model that combines machine learning and collaborative robotics to accelerate the design of materials used in wearable technologies. This model could automate the design process for new materials, making it easier for engineers to create sustainable products with programmable properties. The team’s prediction model has a 95 percent accuracy rate and could help overcome challenges in the design of aerogels, lightweight and porous materials used in thermal insulation and wearable heating applications.
