Samsung Electronics has announced its plans to acquire Sonio, a Paris-based company that develops AI-powered software for ultrasound workflows, for $92.7 million. Sonio’s AI assistant helps obstetricians and gynecologists during examinations and has been awarded FDA clearance for its deep learning algorithms. The acquisition is part of Samsung’s strategic investment in medical technology and will allow them to develop AI-enabled health diagnostics and therapies.
