OpenAI has partnered with Reddit to use the social news site’s data for training AI models and will also become a Reddit advertising partner. This deal will allow OpenAI to incorporate Reddit content into its popular conversational AI, ChatGPT, and bring new AI-powered features to both Reddit users and moderators. The partnership was led by OpenAI’s COO and approved by its independent board of directors, despite OpenAI’s CEO having a stake in Reddit. Reddit has been increasingly using data licensing agreements as part of its growth strategy as a public company.
