NSERC has announced $26 million in funding for 16 new training initiatives through its CREATE program, including $1.65 million for McGill’s Sustainable Data Systems for Data Science program. This program aims to train students and postdoctoral fellows in the intersection of machine learning and sustainability sciences, with the goal of creating a carbon-neutral society. The program will also collaborate with academic and industry partners to address the growing demand for “green data” in a computing and data-hungry world.
