Convolutional Neural Network-based Classification Of Glaucoma Using Optic Radiation Tissue Properties

This article discusses the use of machine learning techniques to study the effects of glaucoma on tissue properties in the white matter of the optic radiations. The study used a large dataset of diffusion MRI measurements from the UK Biobank and found that the tissue properties of certain white matter tracts were informative for age prediction, but not for predicting glaucoma or age-related macular degeneration. The results suggest that the tissue properties of the optic radiations may not be affected by glaucoma in the same way as other white matter tracts.
