Machine Learning-based Algorithms Applied To Drug Prescriptions And Other Healthcare Services In The Sicilian Claims Database To Identify Acromegaly As A Model For The Earlier Diagnosis Of Rare Diseases

This article discusses a study conducted in Southern Italy using administrative claims databases to identify a combination of drug prescriptions and healthcare services for the early diagnosis of acromegaly. The study compared different machine-learning algorithms and used a validated coding algorithm to identify acromegaly cases.
