How ‘deep Learning’ Can Predict Where Wildfires Will Start

Scientists are using machine learning to develop new models that can forecast wildfires and air quality weeks or months in advance. This new method, called deep learning, can produce predictions in 21 hours compared to months with current models. Researchers are working on two projects for wildfire and air quality forecasting.
