Machine Learning To Identify Chronic Cough From Administrative Claims Data

This article discusses the use of machine learning models in identifying individuals with chronic cough for further diagnostic testing and treatment. The study found that logistic regression was the most effective model for this task, but more work is needed to improve its performance. The data used in the study were from a large integrated database that includes health plan enrollment data, clinical information, and NLP-derived information from provider notes.
