Theta, the supercomputer at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, has been in operation for more than six years, enabling breakthroughs in scientific computing and delivering 202 million compute hours to more than 600 projects. During this time, the machine also helped catalyze advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, with the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) launching the ALCF Data Science Program (ADSP) to support HPC projects that employed machine learning and other AI methods.
