Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai made the decision to rapidly develop products based on artificial intelligence after the release of ChatGPT, an AI program created by OpenAI. Google was worried that its business model was at risk due to the popularity of ChatGPT, and so Pichai tasked Google’s top lawyer, Kent Walker, with convincing the Advanced Technology Review Council to approve the project. After nine days of preparation, the Council approved the project and Google was able to move forward with its AI products.
