This article discusses the development of a human-annotated full-text corpus for biomedical entities, comprising 300 full-text open-access research articles. The corpus was developed to transition the Europe PMC literature database from a dictionary-based to a machine learning-based approach. The article also describes the corpus and details how to access and reuse this open community resource.
